In the Dayton-Montgomery County Area

Some of the Services of the Hall Hunger Initiative

The Hall Hunger Initiative is a strategic partner in the food space arena to educate with the Racial Wealth Gap Simulation, advocate for the needs of those most vulnerable in the community, and recruit local leaders to the table where their voices need to be heard.

Significant Accomplishments:

Assisting with hosting and planning the Montgomery County Food Summit on behalf of County Commissioner Judy Dodge.

Assisting with hosting and planning a block party for Gem City Market.

A State-Wide Project Based Learning Food Insecurity Kick off Challenge with Thurgood Marshall STEM High School.

A Latinx Posada, Deep Listening conversations, and a special invitation with Sister Maria.

Working with the City of Dayton, Montgomery County, and Public Health of Dayton and Montgomery County and several other stakeholders to establish a Food Equity Plan.

Working with several non-profit and local stakeholders to increase capacity by any means necessary and pull in a little extra leg work needed for ours and partners' projects, planning, fundraising, grant writing, media production, and extended partnerships.

As a team we facilitate the Bread for the World; Racial Wealth Gap Simulation for individuals and institutions across the Miami Valley. This simulation allows for a civil understanding and discussion as to why we have historically developed food deserts and wealth inequity in the first place.
